The large man known as Fat Herbie Blitzstein was speaking on his cellphone as he walked into his
condo from the garage. Herbie must have been distracted by the phone call or maybe old age had dulled
his instincts . There were two men waiting in ambush for him, they were already in the condo. One was
Anton Davi a sometime boxer today a hitman. The shooter was a man who should have been getting
ready to retire from whatever job it was that he did. They had been promised ten thousand dollars to
carry out the hit. Fat Herbie had just hung up with caller when Richard jammed a 22 Cal pistol wrapped in a
towel into the base of Fat Herbie's skull and fired a round into his brain. The bullet might have been
slowed down by the towel or maybe Fat Herbie had a thick skull, whatever the reason he did not die. Fat
Herbie rolled over the black leather chair and said "Why Me?" Richard grabbed the 38 Cal pistol that
Anton carried and fired another round into Herbie's head via his cheek. This time he was dead. The
house had already been ransacked by a small time thief named Peter Caruso, who is no relation to Louie
Caruso a Capo in the LA Family. The door had been left open for the men by Joe Deluca, who was Fat
Herbie's business partner in Any Auto Sales. The Hitmen had been paid on the installment plan by Peter
Caruso and Alfred Mauriello.
The FBI had arrested LA Family Soldier Steve Cino and Buffalo Mobster Bobby Panero as the men who
gave the go ahead on the hit. I find the whole thing strange because how do two made men from different
families give out a hit order. I also don't understand why they would pay for it, since there are always guys
willing to do some work for free. I know that the informants on the case John Bronco and Fat Tony
Angeoletti owed Fat Herbie money. They had driven myself and a kid Tony by Fat Herbie's home so we
could scope it out. They made up some story about the right people wanting him out of the way. Why kill
a guy for his Shylock business when you can take it from him when he is alive with no heat. Fat Herbie
was never a made guy. Fat Herbie had stayed in the crime game past his days. He was originally with
Chicago Mobster Tony Spilatro, The Ant man in the Mob's heyday in Las Vegas. The Ant man was long
dead in a corn field and Fat Herbie had no more muscle. That alone made him a target or a victim, that
was why it was him
